An Taisce puts spoke in GAMA wheel
GAMA Constructions' proposal to advance the Ennis Bypass by opening up
three quarries adjacent to the route have suffered a setback.
An Taisce has expressed opposition to two of the three proposed quarries
to service the project.
In recent weeks the company filed planning permission to develop the quarries
in order to provide tens of thousands of tonnes of rock to construct the
bypass.
The council has shelved plans for one of the quarries, following complaints
from residents, while decisions are due on the other two sites in the
coming weeks.
