Commercial vehicle sales up 41 per cent

Sales of new light and heavy goods vehicles in April was up a staggering 41.5 per cent in comparison to the same month last year, the Central Statistics Office has confirmed.

Sales of new light and heavy commercials reached 4,399 units in April, up more than 1,200 on the 2004 figures for April.

The figures for April are in line with first quarter results, which means 2005 could be a record-breaking year for truck importers.
