Worse has yet to come - AA
The Automobile Association has warned that motor fuel costs are set to
rise even further due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
Petrol has just gone over the 111 cent per litre mark - up from 94 cents
nine months ago - but the AA's Conor Faughan says fuel prices will continue
to increase.
"The refineries around the Gulf of Mexico are responsible for 20
per cent of the US domestic production and that certainly will have an
impact in the short term.
"Petrol prices have soared by 20 per cent in the last eight months
and it is going to get worse before it gets better."
