Dublin Parking meters rake in E25 million
Dublin City Council benefited from parking meters in the capital last
year, as motorists paid a staggering E25 million just to park.
A report has revealed that the Council also received E3.7 million for
clamping and related fees for the release of vehicles; although the local
authority claims they are paying E8 million a year to the company that
run the service.
The increase in revenue for parking meters has increased by almost E22
million from 1996 when the recording for the year was just a mere E3.6
million.
