Residents protest against incinerator
The Combined Residents Against Incineration were out in force on Saturday
(April 8th) as the group held a protest in opposition to the proposed
incinerator at the Poolbeg Peninsula in Ringsend.
If the incinerator does get approval, it will mean an extra 400 trucks
traveling through the area every day and Fianna Fail senator Mary White
revealed she has met with the Minister for the Environment.
I have spoken with the Taoiseach and the Minister for the Environment
Dick Roche and I told them that this is the most bizarre planning I have
ever come across, said White.
The eastern bypass tunnel is not budgeted for in the Governments
10-year road strategy announced last year.
