Trucker gets five year ban

A truck driver who was in court to face charges of dangerous driving has been disqualified from driving for five-years.

Thomas Sproul (48), Snowdrop Walk, Darndale, Co. Dublin pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on April 14th 2005, when he lost control of his lorry at the busy M50 roundabout.

The judge ruled that the defendant had not given any consideration to other motorists on the road at the time and it was very fortunate that no one was killed during the incident.
