Northern truck driver stabbed

A Co. Tyrone lorry driver was attacked and stabbed by a gang on Wednesday afternoon (April 19th) as he sat in his truck parked in a lay-by.

The incident happened at 2pm near the Ulster-American Folk Park in Omagh . A man approached the lorry and climbed in, he was then ordered to drive to the Gortrush Industrial estate then to the Bankmore Road.

While there, a youth is alleged to have siphoned fuel from the truck before the men attacked the driver and made their getaway in a blue transit van.
