Contractors set for loss on Port Tunnel

Contractors working on the Dublin Port Tunnel are set to take a massive hit in their profits when the troubled development is finally finished later this year.

Carillion are the main building firm working on the tunnel and a trading statement released by them has revealed that it will lose E194 million mostly because of the Port Tunnel.

“It has become clear that prior to acquisition the position on a small number of large contracts had deteriorated further, particularly the Dublin Port Tunnel and Exeter Schools projects,” said a statement.
