Matador extends its casing warranty to second tyre life with Bandag retreading

This collaboration with Bandag dealers streamlines the truck-tyre division of the Púchov-based
manufacturer. Matador and Bandag have been operating in the same Eastern European countries for
many years, going to market with complementary products and skills. The extended casing warranty for
Bandag retreading is a logical next step towards providing end-users with cost-effective tyre solutions.

Quality-minded conditions
Relying on Bandag for tyre retreading was a strategic decision that Matador combined with strict
conditions to preserve quality standards beyond the first life of the tyre. As a result, the Matador casing
warranty will only be extended to Bandag retreads that have been through the Bandag NDI Casing
Analyser and the Bandag 7400 Insight Shearographic Casing Analyser. These are two totally reliable
Bandag machines that detect even the tiniest flaws in tyre casings to determine their suitability for
retreading.

Only Bandag Dealers with an NDI or a Shearographic Casing Analyser in their retreading shop are entitled
to extend the Matador casing warranty to their Bandag retreads. And for good reason: casings that pass
the test provide exactly the same reliability and safety as the new tyre they used to be.

Tracing casings from cradle to grave
Another aspect to extending the casing warranty is that the casings sent for retreading to the Bandag
dealership are managed by the on-line Bandag Camweb® program (Casing Asset Management on
the Web). This on-line database stores records tracking the full service life of each tyre. That includes
maintenance, repairs, retreading (selected Bandag tread and the date of return to the fleet) and the
reasons for any casing rejections. Camweb® also produces reports and statistics that facilitate good
decision-making in fleet tyre management.
