at the RORO 2006 exhibition
The International RoRo Event from Ship to Shore
Tuesday 16 Thursday 18 May 2006
Flanders Expo, Ghent, Belgium To ensure that visitors and exhibitors get
the most out of this years RORO Conference and Exhibition, organiser
Lloyds List Events is introducing three new zones in the exhibition
hall at Flanders Expo in Ghent, Belgium.
Thanks to the Innovation, Recruitment & Education and Outdoor Demonstration
zones, visitors to RORO 2006 will have the chance to learn about new technologies,
services and developments in training in the RoRo industry, as well as
be able to observe a variety of machines in a reserved area outside the
exhibition hall.
Visitors to the Innovation Zone will have the opportunity to interact
with exhibitors presenting their brand new technologies and services.
Sweden-based Cavotec, the worlds leading developer and supplier
of power and control systems to mobile equipment, will be showcasing a
new automatic mooring system in the Innovation Zone. The recently launched
MoorMaster® is a device that operates at the simple push of a button,
mooring and unmooring ships automatically in less than 12 seconds.
Lars Hellman, Cavotec Group Vice President, commented:
Exhibiting at ROROs Innovation Zone will be a great opportunity
for us to target our new product to potential customers, and to show the
whole industry how automated mooring can make everyones job easier
while saving a lot of time, money and resources.
Another company making use of the new platform to present new products
and services is Scottish Enterprise, a pioneer in researching the economic
impacts of RoRo. The agency, whose objective is to help turn Scotland
into a world-class economy, will use the Innovation Zone to present the
findings of a landmark study recently conducted in the Port of Rosyth.
Anne McGregor, Transport Manager, Scottish Enterprise, said: The
evaluation will provide valuable information that will help the Scottish
town in the strategic development of its RoRo services, as well as offer
interesting reading for the whole industry, setting a precedent for the
evaluation of freight and passenger ferry services around the world.
The exhibition will also provide visitors with an update on the latest
developments in education and recruitment, providing direction, advice
and ideas for those wanting to give their career a boost. In the Recruitment
& Education Zone, those interested in pursuing a career in RoRo will
be provided with information about the different opportunities available
in the industry.
The third addition to RORO 2006 will be the Outdoor Demonstration Zone,
where visitors can see various products exhibited throughout the three-day
event in a reserved outdoor area. Cronos Containers have confirmed their
participation and a number of spaces are currently on hold.
According to Lloyds List Events, the new zones have sparked increased
interest in RORO 2006 and a record number of visitors is expected. Those
wishing to join them can find more information about this years
show by logging on to www.roroex.com/visitor.
As well as adding value to visitors, the zones have made the event a must
for companies in different areas of the industry, attracting a list of
top-notch exhibitors to Ghent, including MAFI, BLG, Grimaldi, Scandlines,
NYK Line, DFDS, Finnlines, TTS, Kalmar, Antwerp Euroterminal, Stena RoRo
and Aker Finnyards, as well as the ports of Zeebrugge, Lübeck &
Hamburg, Gdansk, London and Bilbao.
The central themes of the RORO 2006 Conference running alongside the exhibition
will include the Motorways of the Sea initiative, ship design and inland
waterways. The discussions will be led by high-calibre speakers, such
as Anders Bomann, President, Europe Region of Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Soren
Jung, Managing Director of DFDS NV and Anders Flensborg, Maritime Transport
Solutions, Flensborg Associates.
This year, Lloyds List Events is offering exhibitors the opportunity
to invite up to five customers to join them for the RORO 2006 VIP experience.
The special programme will include a complimentary invitation to a networking
reception, a delegate lunch, and a tour in the Port of Ghent, in addition
to free access to the conference papers and fast-track entrance to the
exhibition.
Those interested in exhibiting at the event are advised to act quickly
or risk missing out on the opportunity to showcase their products and
services, form new contacts and take part in a range of networking activities
with industry colleagues and associates from around the world.
