Heil win five year maintenance contract
Heil Europe have recently supplied Runnymede Borough Council with eight
new vehicles on a five year maintenance and servicing program.
Vehicles supplied by Heil include six new Powerlinks and two new narrow
Powertrak units.
Roy Cooper comments; "A dedicated Heil service engineer is based
at Runnymede operating from a purpose built facility that enables the
engineer to carry out all types of service and repairs to the Runnymede
fleet, which includes small vans. The dedicated engineer reduces repair
times and keeps the fleet on the road to optimise efficiencies."
Roy continues; "A comprehensive stock of spares is kept at the Runnymede
depot to ensure a 'first time' fix philosophy is always achieved."
To further improve the service that Heil gives to Runnymede, and that
Runnymede give to their customers, a two way radio system has been fitted
to all vehicles to enable the engineer to give exceptional response times
to units out on route.
David Stedman DSO Manager at Runnymede comments; "The acquisition
of a new refuse fleet with a five-year maintenance contract was a substantial
investment by the council to provide a better and more efficient service
for its residents. We are extremely pleased with the vehicles and how
the new onsite maintenance arrangements are working."
The Powerlink, manufactured by Heil, provides flexibility to any RCV fleet.
With its full-cycle compaction mechanism, it produces less friction than
conventional channelled compaction systems thus ensuring that a greater
force is directed into the load. The reduction of friction increases durability
of materials, improving whole life costs.
Additionally a newly designed hydraulic system offers unique and unparalleled
performance; reduced downtime; lower maintenance costs and less risk of
environmental pollution. Heil offers a variety of options for body sizes
on the Powerlink with cubic capacities of 16 to 26m.
The Powertrak, a robust and hard working refuse collection vehicle, designed
for higher performance levels and lower cost of ownership, sets the future
standards of RCV design and performance. The Powertrak offers low maintenance,
less downtime and all wear parts can easily be changed in situ without
major dis-assembly. With a hopper capacity of 2.3m the Powertrak
can handle bulk materials easily and its superior corrosion resistance
extends service life and keeps your unit looking good for longer. The
Powertrak is reliable and durable even in the most difficult environments.
