Calls for stolen buses to be returned

The thieves that stole two special needs’ buses from KVC Manufacturing Ltd have been urged to return the vehicles by a father, whose son has a severe muscle wasting condition.

Two special needs buses were stolen from the premises in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath, reported to be worth E60,000 each, while another bus was also robbed at the same time.
Paddy Kelly from Kiltale, Co. Meath called on the thieves to show some compassion and return the buses as the family rely on their new vehicle to help bring their 18-year-son around.

“My son, Ronan suffers from muscular dystrophy. He is 18 and he is studying for his leaving cert in Dunshaughlin Community Centre. We had to sell our old vehicle recently to cover the cost of buying this new bus,” said Paddy.

“The price of the bus is E40,000, but the problem now is that it could take up to three months to replace the bus. We feel very despondent about the fact that somebody stole the bus.”
