Thorworld sets the standard at new materials handling event

Leading loading and unloading equipment specialist, Thorworld Industries Ltd, will be a major force (Stand M300) at the first 'Materials Handling Live' event to be held at Stoneleigh Park Exhibition & Conference Centre near Coventry (23 & 24 May 2006).

The two-day event is sponsored by the British Materials Handling Federation (BMHF), which collectively represents over 500 companies with in excess of 25,000 employees and operating in an industry with a total turnover exceeding 3.5 billion pounds.

Thorworld provides a one-stop, single source for a wide range of high quality loading and unloading equipment and loading bay accessories and safety aids, such as: dock shelters and seals, dock levellers, dock plates and boards, dock & vehicle bumpers, wheel clocks and modular loading docks, together with the provision of mobile yardramps, for purchase or rental on a sale or return basis, through their specialist RentA Ramp operation, as well as the Truckloada mobile yardlift, the Dockloada scissor lift platform and a new lot cost Economy ramp.

The company is firmly established as a leading supplier to the loading bay and materials handling sectors, with numerous prestigious customers throughout the UK and mainland Europe in distribution, logistics, transport, retailing, food, drink, manufacturing, recycling and the service industries.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Thorworld was established by John Meale, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), past Chairman of the Association of Loading & Elevating Equipment Manufacturers (ALEM), former president of the BMHF and now a board member of the Federation Europeene de la Manutention (FEM), the European Federation of Materials Handling, and is also President of its Elevating and Loading Equipment Product Group.

"We are proud to support this major new national event, which is intended as a 'shop window' for the entire UK materials handling industry," said John Meale.

"The BMHF initiative is just what British materials handling companies have been looking for. It's a highly cost-effective exhibition for exhibitors and visitors alike that's intended to attract all facets of the materials handling sector, and is being held in an extremely central location. I'm certain it will rapidly become the leading annual event in the industry's exhibition calendar."
