Fuel hike costs motorists Eu58 million
Fuel retailers have been accused of ripping off motorists as the price
of oil, diesel and petrol is higher in Ireland than most European countries.
The price of fuel has risen all over the world, but Fine Gael have claimed
retailers went that step further and put consumers under major pressure
financially.
Taxes on petrol have also risen by 4.3% in the last year, while taxes
in other European countries has risen as little as 1.2%, leaving Irish
fuel prices among the highest in the western world.
Fine Gael believes that Irish motorists have been ripped off to the tune
of Eu58 million and stressed that something must be done to address this
situation.
