Limerick residents object to quarry

A company planning to open a 120-acre limestone quarry in Co. Limerick has drawn hundreds of objections from residents living in the area, who are concerned about the impact the premises will have on the environment.

The deadline for objections over the opening of the quarry at Ferrybridge, near the village of Kildimo is Wednesday 3rd May , but already residents have complained in their hundreds.

“If this was to go ahead we would have blasting and as this is limestone land, this would affect houses in the area and the value of property,” said Tom Fitzgerald of the Ferrybridge Action Group.
