Welcome to Cummins Turbo Technologies

With immediate effect the world's leading manufacturer of turbochargers for diesel engines, Huddersfield-based Holset Engineering Co Ltd, has got a new name - Cummins Turbo Technologies Ltd.

The company will continue to brand its products with the internationally renowned 'Holset' name - synonymous with advanced turbocharging since the business was founded in Yorkshire in 1948.
The announcement was made at Cummins' Annual General in Columbus, Indiana, USA, when Holset Engineering's parent company revealed a new global brand strategy. This involves reducing the many existing subsidiary and organisational brands within Cummins to communicate as one company with one voice to the market. This is a further step in Cummins' evolution as a global power company to guarantee long-lasting success in a highly competitive environment. Holset will change its name to Cummins Turbo Technologies to align the business more closely to the Cummins family.

According to Cummins Turbo Technologies Managing Director Paul Ibbotson: "There is significant value in this new strategy. It will build a much stronger global brand, portraying Cummins as a company that offers a range of products and services; not just engines, not just turbochargers or generators or filters but a company that can meet all our customer's needs relating to power across the globe".
Mr Ibbotson said using the Cummins name would enhance the recognition of Holset products beyond its traditional communities, with resulting opportunities to increase market share and would also help with the recruitment and retention of the best quality people.

"This branding change will affect our corporate identity. However, there will be no changes to our product branding. The Holset Turbochargers brand will continue to be applied to all our products and technology worldwide. We want to reassure all our business partners that the change of name has no effect on existing contracts which will continue to operate under Cummins Turbo Technologies Ltd", said Mr Ibbotson.

The Holset Turbochargers brand (named after the twin founders - W C Holmes and Paul Croset) will remain as the company's product identity and will continue to be used on products and throughout the aftermarket.
"We are creating a distinction between the company we work for: Cummins and the products we sell: Holset. Our organisational structure; the work we do; the people we are and our heritage will all remain", said Mr Ibbotson. "We're proud of our Yorkshire roots and it's a tribute to our Huddersfield workforce that still today and in the future the worldwide headquarters of our company will continue to be right here in the UK".

Holset has been making turbochargers in Huddersfield for almost 60 years and has been part of the Cummins family for over 30 years. It is a worldwide operation, supplying its products to engine and vehicle makers in every Continent. It has manufacturing locations in India, China, the Netherlands, Brazil and the USA as well as the UK.
