Three Heil Powerlinks for Hull City Council

As part of a fleet renewal programme, Hull City Council has recently taken delivery of 3 new Heil Powerlinks supplied by Londonderry Garage, who will be servicing the support requirements of the Heil equipment.

Hull City Council has been operating a Heil Powerlink for the last 3 years and decided to purchase another three due to the proven quality and reliability of the vehicle.
Garry Middleton, Fleet and Engineering Manager of Hull City Council comments;  “We have been extremely pleased with the level of service provided by Londonderry Garage who supplied us with the Heil Powerlink and the price for these 3 bodies was also extremely competitive”.
Garry continues; “The acquisition of the new vehicles met with Hull City Council‚s aspirations of best value and continuous improvement”

The new Powerlinks will be used to collect domestic waste for the residents of Hull.
The Powerlink, manufactured by Heil, provides flexibility to any RCV fleet. With its full-cycle compaction mechanism, it produces less friction than conventional channelled compaction systems thus ensuring that a greater force is directed into the load. The reduction of friction increases durability of materials, improving whole life costs.

Additionally a newly designed hydraulic system offers unique and unparalleled performance; reduced downtime; lower maintenance costs and less risk of environmental pollution. Heil offers a variety of options for body sizes on the Powerlink with cubic capacities of 16 to 26m“.
Manintence of the new Powerlinks will be in-house yet backed as required by Londonderry Garage.
