Roadlink expansion boosted by acquisition of Capus

The continuing expansion of Roadlink International Ltd as a major supplier of components for truck, trailer and bus applications throughout the UK gains new momentum this week with the acquisition of Capus (UK) Ltd and associated companies based in Kent.

Both companies were founded in the early 1980s to plug a gap in the market for specialist suppliers of OE quality CV components. Roadlink has concentrated on building an impressive portfolio of truck and bus components, while Capus has established an enviable reputation as a major independent suppllier of trailer components.

As a result there is very little product overlap between the companies, creating a sound logic for the acquisition. The purchase of Capus will enable Roadlink to achieve economies of scale and expand its business base by bringing together a high level of product and commercial expertise.

Whilst Roadlink and Capus will continue to operate independently, the acquisition will enable both businessses to work together to exploit new opportunities in an ever changing world market.

The Capus management team will remain at the company's base in Sittingbourne, Kent. Joint founder Don Gravener takes over as Managing Director following the retirement of Richard Derry, with Helen Arthur and Keith Sedgley of Roadlink joining as directors. Richard Derry will remain with the group as a consultant until the end of 2006.

Commenting on the acquisition, Roadlink Chairman David Sedgley said: "The financial strength and professional management of the new group will help us to further ur growth plans through an expanded UK and export customer base."
