AutoRestore added to range of services available through
link
Mobile body repair has been added to the range of services available through
the 1link Service Network e-commerce platform with the signing of AutoRestore
this week.
Until now, 1link has been used almost exclusively for mechanical service
and maintenance by franchise dealers, independent garages and fast-fit
centres. The new deal marks the first move into body repair.
AutoRestore, owned by Belron, the world s leading vehicle glass repair
and replacement business, operates a fleet of 67 mobile body repair vehicles
across the UK, and provides an on-the-spot repair service for minor vehicle
damage carried out by fully trained and accredited bodyshop technicians.
The company won the Fleet News Innovation of the Year Award in March,
2006.
Chris Eldridge, general manager at AutoRestore, said: We provide a quick
and easy way for fleets to deal with minor body repairs, and 1link provides
a quick and easy way to book and authorise work, so the two products have
a natural fit and work well together.
Ken Trinder, head of business development at epyx, the company behind
1link, said: AutoRestore s service is highly innovative and there is nothing
else quite like it available on the market. We believe that fleets already
using 1link will find their proposition attractive, and that it brings
a new dimension to the range of services available through the platform.
1link Service Network was designed to create online links between major
fleets and providers of maintenance services. It replaces the phone and
fax method of authorising fleet work, which often results in queried invoices,
with a fast and accurate online mechanism. Drivers, service providers
and fleets all benefit.
To date, 1link Service Network has been adopted by leasing fleets totalling
a parc of two million vehicles in the UK, more than 10,000 service providers,
and the majority of the country s top 50 vehicle leasing companies and
motor manufacturers on behalf of their franchise dealer networks.
