The International Road Transport Union held a ground breaking event when they held a meeting with representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine to provide instructor briefings on the IRU Academy’s Dangerous Goods (ADR) and Tachograph.
The meeting was organized to highlight the necessity to create and develop the knowledge and all round skills that are essential to create an environment to upskill the needs of drivers to meet the challenges of improving road safety with ever changing legislation.
The IRU believe that instructor briefings must become a matter of tradition and be sited regionally. The response from those attending the conference was high in their praise for the initiative and high standard of professionalism of the instructor briefings.
