Providing an efficient service since 1994, Tyre Master are committed to meeting their customers needs with a work shop which has been improved to the most up to date around with state of the art equipment. The company took time out from a busy scheduled to speak to Irish Trucker about what they do.
Based on the Greenhills Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12, Tyre Master have been in business for 16 years now and in that time they have established themselves as a major supplier of tyres to the Commercial Vehicle, Plant and Earth Mover segments of the market.
Since the company was established by Lar Murray all those years ago, there have been a number of people which have been the driving force behind the company’s success to date, namely Lar’s full-time staff of 14, which have helped to steer Tyre Master through the good times and the bad and keep things solvent going into the new decade.
With Twelve satellite tracked mobile breakdown units covering the Greater Dublin area, and the capability to attend vehicles nationwide, Tyre Master’s professional 24 hour, seven-day week breakdown service has firmly put them on the map and they are very proud of the after sales and emergency cover which they provide to their customers.
“We’re on the go now 15 years and we employ a full-time staff of just under 15 here on the Greenhills Road. We provide a 24-hour breakdown service for our customers and we also do tyres and repairs as well,” General Manager, Sean Delaney explained to Irish Trucker.
Down the years, Tyre Master has gained a large amount of respect and new customers based largely on their mobile service, especially after normal working hours.
Sean added: “As we are commercial vehicle-minded we understand that a breakdown is not an inconvenience but a loss of revenue situation and as every haulier and operator of commercial vehicles and plant knows you are not making money when the vehicle is parked at the side of the road
“Our customers know that they are always only one phone call away from assistance and it doesn’t matter what time of day or night it is. We are on call away 365 days per year, and their problems will be sorted with minimum downtime anywhere in Ireland.”
That’s a service that’s hard to compete with. ‘24/7’ is a term which customers love to hear when they are looking to do business and Tyre Master make sure to offer the most attractive deals which appeal to people who are ready to pay for their service.
As well as this, the company’s range of services to hauliers is second to none. They will provide the same level of service to the operator with one vehicle to the operator with a large fleet of vehicles.
They also offer tyre contracts giving a fixed monthly costing per vehicle for tyre maintenance, ensuring customers peace of mind in knowing exactly how much each vehicle spend is every month with no hidden costs.
As a major supplier of Earthmover (OTR) stock, Tyre Master has a special fully-equipped breakdown truck with crane and tyre handler to change large tyres as quickly and safely as possible.
Sean comes in: “The safety this breakdown truck provides is a major benefit on building sites and motorway building, where safety is paramount. This type of equipment is essential for any tyre company that is serious about providing a first class service to the OTR segment of the industry.
“Unfortunately we are all too aware of the economic situation at the moment, so this end of the business is quiet but we are very well established with waste companies, quarries etc. and are winning new contracts on a weekly basis When the upturn comes we will be ready and willing take full advantage.”
In an effort to compliment their business and at a time when most companies were cutting back, Tyre Master embarked on a major refurbishment project of their premises and have been very proud of the result since work began back in August of last year and finished a month into 2010.
Tyre Master now boast a state of the art car tyre and service centre on the Greenhills Road, which now includes a top of the range car/van workshop with fully trained mechanics on site and they also supply and fit all car/4x4/van tyres in this workshop.
Sean describes the revamp as something which was needed to make Tyre Master’s headquarters “public friendly”.
“Whilst we always serviced the passenger car segment it was always seen as an add on and small side of the business,” he said.
“We were not capturing the large passing trade that we have and a lot of potential customers were not aware that we catered for the passenger car segment and as we were extremely busy we didn’t push this side of the business enough.”
Along with this, the company’s top of the range wheel alignment system, ramps, lifting equipment makes this one, if not the best, tyre workshops in Dublin and they also offer headlight alignment (which is a major cause of failure at NCT tests), therefore a quick call to them at Greenhills Road before your NCT could be very beneficial.
While Tyre Master are looking after your vehicle, you can relax in their comfortable waiting area, and have a read of the newspaper safe in the knowledge that the professionals are carrying out your instructions to the highest standards possible.
The Tyre Master company guarantee the following: service is paramount; 24 hour 7 day availability; minimum downtime; dedicated communication; responsible waste disposal.
The businesses’ main depot is centrally located to all main national routes based at Greenhills Road, Dublin 12 and is open six days a week, offering drive-in tyre replacement service, puncture repairs, balancing etc. This depot is fully stocked with a vast range of tyres at all times to suit every customer’s requirements.
