Chaos as booze flows across motorway

Motorists were subjected to long delays when two lorries shed their loads at around 6am on on the M25, close to Hertfordshire. The accident took place between junction 17 at Maple Cross in Hertfordshire and junction 16 in Buckinghamshire.

One of the lorries involved in the smash carrying pieces of wood while the other was carrying large barrels of beer. With debris being sprayed across four lanes of traffic.

The road reopened at 10am with two lanes remaining closed for a few more hours to enable the massive clean-up operation.

No injuries were reported on what turned out to be a boozy Friday morning for motorists who arrived on the scene.
