TechPlus celebrates 30 years of excellence

Celebrating 30 years in business, TechPlus is a leading supplier of tyre and commercial workshop equipment to car and commercial garages nationwide. The multi award-winning company continues to go from strength to strength thanks to its quality products, expertise, service and support.
Fronted by Hugh Brady and employing 12 highly-motivated and professional people at its state-of-the-art Tallaght headquarters, TechPlus handles all the top brands of workshop equipment, lifting equipment, tyre consumables, air tech and wheel equipment for industry leaders. It was the first company in the industry in Ireland to be named a certified member of the Garage Equipment Association, and is also a member of SIMI and ITIA.
TechPlus offers full after sales service to include calibration, equipment servicing, workshop, layout design through its experienced sales and service engineers’ team. Furthermore, it is happy to arrange finance for customers on all orders subject to terms and conditions. The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its achievement of being named the Irish Auto Trade Awards’ Workshop Tools & Equipment Supplier of the Year for 2015, ’16, ’17, ’18, ’19 and ’20.
“We’re delighted to reach this milestone,” Hugh says.
“We’re built the company up over the past 30 years to what it is today. That wouldn’t have been possible without our top-class team, exceptional service and quality products. Our people are our greatest asset. Some of them have been on our books for 20-plus years. The shortest any of them have been with us is seven years. They work hard and have vast knowledge of the industry.
“We have four sales and two service vans covering truck and tyre workshops as well as CVRT test centres across Ireland. We also have three fully-qualified lift engineers in the workshop where there is a strong emphasis on Health & Safety. We relocated from Motor City on the Kylemore Road to South City Business Park in Tallaght in 2007, which was a very good move for us.
“A lot of our products are OEM-approved and made in Europe. Everything comes down to quality products, back-up and service, and this is what we strive to consistently deliver. We insist on stocking only the highest quality brands.
He adds: “We’re very busy. Even during the Covid-19 lockdowns we were busy as an essential service provider. It’s probably a reflection of the transport industry in general. There have never been as many vans and trucks on the road.”
The main brands TechPlus represents when it comes to trucks and commercials are Rotary / Blitz column truck lifts, HAWEKA truck wheel alignment systems, ABCO truck pit jacks, Mondolfo truck tyre changers, Aircat air tools and FINI air compressors.
Rotary / Blitz Lifting equipment is the world’s leading manufacturer of two-post, four-post, scissors lifts and mobile truck column lifts. The mobile column lifts are a perfect synthesis of flexibility and stability. Free areas make optimal use, both in the workshop as well as outdoors. The mobile column lifts offer double overload protection due to their infinitely adjustable hydraulic safety device (shutoff valve) and self-locking mechanical safety catch. Generously-sized batteries allow up to 15 lifting and lowering movements with a full load.
Self-deflecting steering gear with integrated lock brake prevents the unintentional rolling away of a lifting unit. The lift’s integrated charging device permits charging while operating the HYDROLIFT 52. One hour of quick-charging allows an additional complete lift / lower cycle. Other features are easy-to-access hydraulic hoses, software updates via SD cards, while modular design allows the additional expansion from two to six or eight lifting units.
The HAWEKA Axis 4000 computerised truck alignment system is the new generation of portable on-site wheel alignment for commercial vehicles. Convenient and easy to use, this high-quality wheel alignment system enables real-time, highly-accurate and fast measurements to be made.
The key factors that led to HAWEKA’s decision to continue the development of this measuring process were the high global demand for vehicle wheel alignment combined with flexibility and accuracy of measuring the technology. The result is an innovative wheel alignment system that sets the standards of wheel alignment systems in terms of handling and measuring accuracy.
ABCO offers a range of pit jacks custom-fit to suit your requirements. These include the 20-tonne threaded rod with locking collar commercial pit jack, the 20-tonne chrome rod commercial pit jack and the 12-tonne chrome rod commercial pit jack.
TechPlus also supplies the full range of truck tyre changers from Mondolfo Ferro in Italy, from semi-automatic to automatic and lever-less. Aircat commercial air tools is another brand the company is proud to fly the flag for. Top selling Aircat pneumatic tools include the 1056-XL compact impact wrench, the AC1150 twin hammer mechanism and the 1900-A heavy duty impact wrench.
Synonymous with quality and professionalism, FINI air compressors are made in Italy and are designed for heavy duty use. They are distinguished by the offer of unique and advanced technologies that provide energy-saving solutions that work.
