These are exciting times for EE Haulage Ltd which recently relocated from Dromore to a new premises in Beragh, Co. Tyrone.

Strategically located between Omagh and Ballygawley, the state-of-the-art premises includes a workshop and a spacious yard which will allow the company to continue its steady growth in the coming years. Specialising in refrigerated transport – specifically swinging beef and lamb – EE Haulage was established in 2006 by Eamon Ewing, who had worked as a boner for the Foyle Food Group prior to that.

With locations in Omagh, Donegal and Campsie, the Foyle Food Group has over 40 years of expertise in beef supply chain and processing, and counts on EE Haulage to deliver beef carcasses to butcher shops and supermarkets across Ulster as well as other meat produce to Kerry Foods in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow and Dawn Farm Foods in Naas, Co. Kildare, all in a timely and efficient manner.

“Eamon has enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the Foyle Food Group going back to when he was an employee of the company,” says EE Haulage Transport Manager and Eamon’s nephew, Ryan Nugent.

“They are one of our biggest customers now. We can go into any of their plants and load up day or night. That trust has been built up since we started delivering for them 17 years ago.”

From humble beginnings, EE Haulage has evolved into a thriving operation that offers a professional, reliable, friendly and value-for-money service. Eamon started out with a Volvo FL10 and was joined three years later by Ryan and his Scania 164 480. Fast forward to 2023 and the family business has grown its all-Scania fleet to six rigids and three artics, and staff to 10.

Fitted with Gray & Adams fridge bodies, the rigids include two P320s, two P230s, a P310 and a P270. The artics are a 620, a 580 and a 500 R Series which pull any one of 10 Gray & Adams and Chereau refrigerated trailers owned by EE Haulage. The Co. Tyrone haulage firm takes great pride in the appearance of its trucks. With their striking blue and white livery, they are a real head-turner and a familiar sight on Irish roads.

“How your vehicles look says everything about your company. If they are clean and well presented, it gives a good impression,” Ryan explains.

Behind the wheel of every Ewing truck is a reliable, experienced and courteous driver, including Eamon’s son Danny. “Our drivers are the best in the business. They always deliver the goods. Our team is a mix of drivers and helpers who load and onload the beef and lamb. I can’t praise them enough. Between Eamon and I, we oversee the smooth running of the business.”

The fleet is maintained, serviced and checked over on a regular basis to avoid downtime both inhouse and by Ballygawley-based truck mechanic Kevin McGorman. EE Haulage’s main suppliers are Sean Kelly Commercials in Trillick and A&M Commercials in Castleshane, Co. Monaghan.

“Sean Kelly’s son, Shane, has sourced and supplied us with very good lorries over the last few years,” Ryan adds.

The affable Transport Manager is delighted with EE Haulage’s new premises, noting how it’s within easy reach of the meat processing facilities it services.

“It’s central to Foyle Food Group’s plants in Omagh, Donegal and Derry. It’s also close to Dunbia in Dungannon which is another factory we draw out of. When things are really busy, we call on Darren McKenna of DMK Transport to give us a hand. Darren pulls loads for us on a regular basis and we work well together.”

Eamon and Ryan are big supporters of the 'Full of the Pipe' Truck Show which recently took place in Mondello Park, Co. Kildare. They won the ‘Best Tractor Unit 2015-21’ category last in 2022, while they were delighted to see Darren McKenna pick up third prize for ‘Best Custom Truck Northern Ireland’ at this year’s Show.

“We always enter a few trucks and go along for a bit of craic. If you win something, it’s a bonus,” Ryan smiles.

In summary, EE Haulage prides itself on its first-class, dependable, trustworthy and unrivalled service. As it continues to go from strength to strength, Eamon and Ryan would like to take this opportunity to thank their clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as their drivers and helpers for their dedication, hard work and expertise.
