The Kings of the Road: Championing the Drivers, the Companies and the Culture of Trucking

From its home base in the scenic village of Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh, The Kings of the Road has become one of the most recognised online trucking lifestyle brands in the UK and Irish trucking community. Launched just three years ago, the brand quickly earned a loyal following with its practical, high-quality range of clothing, boot cleaning kits, and safety gear — all designed with the real-life needs of truckers in mind.

But The Kings of the Road was never just about merchandise. At its core, it was built on a love for the people who keep the logistics industry moving — the men and women who live their lives behind the wheel, day in and day out. And now, as the brand enters an exciting new chapter, it's turning its focus more than ever to celebrating the stories of the drivers and the companies that are the backbone of transport across these islands.

Led by co-founder Paul Leonard, the Kings of the Road team is expanding in 2025 to meet the growing demand for deeper, richer content that reflects the reality of life on the road.

“We’ve always wanted to put the drivers first,” Paul says.

“This year, we're doing just that — capturing their voices, their journeys and their pride in the rigs they drive.”

A major part of that new direction is the launch of The Kings of the Road Trucking Company Feature — a monthly spotlight kicking off in July 2025. This new initiative will showcase standout trucking companies from across the UK and Ireland, featuring onsite interviews, professional photography and video profiles of the fleets and the teams that run them. Each feature aims to honour the history, heritage and everyday hustle of these companies, while giving viewers a real inside look at the trucks they operate and the challenges they face.

Importantly, there is no cost for companies to be featured, and all participants will receive Kings of the Road merchandise for use during filming and photography.

“It’s about recognition, not revenue,” Paul adds.

“We want to shine a light on the people and machines that keep our countries supplied, 365 days a year.”

The Kings of the Road team is also gearing up for one of the highlights of the trucking calendar — the Full of the Pipe Truck Show at Mondello Park on July 12 and 13. As longtime fans of the event, the brand is thrilled to be attending and can’t wait to meet customers, supporters and drivers from across the country.

“There’s nothing quite like it. The trucks, the stories, the community — we’re proud to be a part of it,” Paul adds.

As The Kings of the Road continues to grow, one thing remains unchanged: its dedication to the people who live the life, drive the miles, and carry the loads. This brand is made for them — the true kings of the road.
