Alphabella Tyres is now the sole distributor for Northern Ireland for SRW’s sensational range of high-quality, excellent-value aluminium rims, which they will be showcasing at Full of the Pipe 2025. Proprietor Bradley Baird is looking forward to demonstrating how these value-for-money rims offer truckers the ultimate solution.
From its base on Scarva, County Armagh, just 20 minutes away from Newry, Alphabella Tyres offers truckers in Northern Ireland premium commercial fleet tyre and aluminium rim services.
Company founder Brandley Baird was born and bred into a haulage environment – his father having operated Joseph Baird Transport for more than 40 years – so he understands all too well the level of service truckers expect and demand when it comes to tyre and wheel maintenance.
Alphabella is on board as an official event sponsor for Full of the Pipe 2025 and will also be taking a full range of SRW aluminium truck rims to Mondello Park to show why more and more operators are switching to SRW. While Alphabella Tyres has, as the name suggests, been synonymous with the consistent delivery of exceptional commercial fleet tyre maintenance services since its inception in November, 2018 – specialising in the premium side of things as opposed to cheap and unreliable Chinese imports which don’t offer value for money in the long run – they are also renowned near and far for alloy truck rims and indeed rim and tyre packages.
Bradley and the team at Alphabella have the expertise and experience to put together the best solution to suit each individual truck and / or trucker’s specific needs, resulting in optimal performance and return on investment.
To this end, Alphabella has recently been appointed sole distributor for Northern Ireland of SRW aluminium rims. They’ve been successfully selling SRW rims for over 18 months and are also stockists of Alcoa – the Rolls Royce of aluminium rims.
“SRW offers the same high-quality rim as Alcoa Dura-Bright, with a five-year warranty on the finish and strength but at a fraction of the price of Alcoa,” Bradley explains. “Look, I’m not going to say they are better quality than Alcoa, because they’re not – nobody is. Alcoa is the Nike of aluminium rims and you won’t beat them on quality.
“But, now, for the first time ever, there’s finally a rim manufacturer that has managed to match Alcoa on quality but with a massive cost saving. This is a big deal and that’s why we were so determined to become the distributor for SRW. You will save £700-£800 on a set for a 6x2 unit, which is some saving in the times that are in it. That’s a tank of diesel and it makes a huge difference to a man who is making little or no money.”

In the 18 months or so that Alphabella have been selling SRW rims, the response has been superb. Hannon Transport is a firm that has made the switch to SRW.
“Two years in from fitting our very first set of SRW, they are still on and performing perfectly,” says Bradley. “The quality of these rims really is second to none.”
Serving fleets and owner operators, Alphabella focuses on commercial tyres and rims for trucks, vans and agri machinery, with five service vans out on the road daily covering an extensive catchment area that extends from their depot north to Ballymena and south to Dublin. Customers are also covered by a prompt and professional breakdown / roadside recovery service.
Having attended Full of the Pipe in the past, Bradley is a big supporter of the show and has been mightily impressed by how FOTP has grown and evolved over the years into something very special. “It’s the biggest show in the country now and, having taken on this distributorship, there’s no better place for us to showcase these rims,” the Armagh man enthuses.
“Lots of people have tried out SRW rims and are very happy with them, and they are gaining more and more traction through word of mouth, but we need more exposure to show them off to the trucking community. Where better could you do that than at Full of the Pipe? It’s the biggest weekend in Ireland for truckers and we’re very much looking forward to being part of it this year.”
Alphabella Tyres are bringing their own 52-foot rigid to Full of the Pipe, a unit that’s kitted out in striking SRW rims. On a stand opening out from the trailer, they will also be displaying a full range of all the rims SRW has to offer. “We won’t be displaying in the trade area. Instead, we’ll be parked right in the middle of the rest of the trucks, which is definitely the best way to do it,” says Bradley. “I’ll be there myself alongside our sales manager and a couple of others. We’re looking forward to showing off the rims and to talking to people and answering any questions they might have.
“But it’s not just about publicity and we’re also looking forward to the show itself. We have a few different shows up here in the North but Full of the Pipe is different gravy. You don’t just drop in for an hour or two and then leave; you can make a day of it or even a weekend because there’s so much to see and do.”
Alphabella Tyres has established a wonderful reputation for quality, service and value over the past seven years and is very much on an upward trajectory, with the new SRW rims distributorship representing a real statement of intent.
“It’s a big step forward in terms of us now being a distributor as opposed to just selling them,” Bradley concludes. “We’re now going from A to B instead of A-C and we fully believe in this product; I’m convinced that more and more hauliers are going to be making the change and that’s why it was so important to us to become a distributor.”
