Gallen Crane and Truck Hire gives Full of the Pipe a lift
04/07/2025

A regular supporter of Ireland’s biggest and best truck show, Gallen Crane and Truck Hire will have a strong presence once more at the 2025 edition of Full of the Pipe.
The Gallen team will again be making the short journey from their Allenwood, County Kildare HQ to nearby Mondello Park to exhibit some of the magnificent units in their industry-leading, specialist haulage and lifting fleet.
As operations manager Emily Gallen told Irish Trucker magazine ahead of Full of the Pipe 2025: “We’ve been going to Full of the Pipe every year for a good few years now and it’s always a big deal around here. We can’t wait for this year’s show – it’s definitely one of the highlights of the year.
“We were at Mondello last year and it was absolutely brilliant. It’s a great show every year and the fact that it’s only a stone’s throw away is an added bonus. It’s very local, not even 20 minutes away, which is great.”
The Gallen Crane and Truck Hire trophy display cabinet is packed to capacity and – running one of Ireland’s most attractive and well-maintained fleets of trucks and cranes - they have been regular award winners at Full of the Pipe. For this year’s show, they are taking a number of vehicles to display, and hopes are of course always high that they might bring back home another prize or two!
“This year we will be bringing ten-twelve trucks, including 06KE150 + PK150002 which has been off the road for a year and a half getting completely refurbished; a brand new Scania R530 8x2 Rigid + PK76002, a brand new Scania R560 6x4 Arctic + PK88002 and our PCC115.002 crawler crane, alongside much more of our fleet,” says Emily.
The PCC115.002 compact crawler crane delivers a specialist lifting solution as part of Gallen’s full-service crane hire package. With a lifting capacity of up to 30,000kg and a lifting moment of 104.4 tonne-metres, the PCC115.002 allows Gallen Crane and Truck Hire to carry out heavy-duty lifts in areas that would normally be inaccessible to traditional cranes.
The PCC115 is just 2.1m wide and under 2.4m tall without its crawler module, which means the Gallen team can move it into underground car parks, narrow laneways, factories, and even through doorways. It’s also remote-controlled — allowing safe, precise lifts where visibility and positioning matter.
Thanks to its H-frame stabilisers and detachable 8-tonne counterweights, the crane can be deployed in almost any position and still maintain full lifting capacity — even when outriggers are retracted or space is restricted. It’s built for urban sites, sloped ground, and obstacle-filled environments.
With regards to the many benefits of being associated with Full of the Pipe, Emily comments: “It’s great for advertising the business and for showcasing the quality equipment we have at our disposal, and also for tapping into the community around us. We get the opportunity to show off the trucks that are our pride and joy and also to demonstrate the capabilities of our newest equipment, because in crane hire there’s always new stuff and it’s often things that people might not be overly familiar with.
“When you’re involved in the crane industry, it’s great to show people new equipment like the crawler crane, which wouldn’t be very common … so that’s something a little bit different and worth demonstrating. Outside of all that, it’s always a really good weekend and a great celebration of the trucking industry in Ireland, which is obviously dear to our hearts here.”

“For all the guys who work here, and spend so much of their working day alone in the cab, an event like this is invaluable because they can bring their families and make a weekend of it and celebrate trucking life at the same time. You’re building a sense of community within the company and also within the industry as a whole.
“A lot of our lads are going to be going along and they’ll bring their families – their kids, partners, parents, even their grandparents. How could you beat that? It’s going to be brilliant.”
