Drone Tech Media has Full of the Pipe 2025 covered
09/07/2025
Drone Tech Media from Ennis in County Clare will be the official photographer and videographer at Full of the Pipe in Mondello Park this weekend. With more than a little help from his young son, Alex, founder Kenneth Hynes has all the equipment and expertise to provide fantastic coverage of Ireland’s premier truck show from the air and from the ground,
Drone Tech Media Ennis was founded in 2024 by Kenneth Hynes, who turned a lifelong passion for photography and drone technology into a growing media business offering professional aerial and ground-based services across Ireland.
“Photography and drones were always a big interest of mine,” Kenneth says. “But I never took the leap until last year, when my good friend Kevin gave me the encouragement to go for it. That was the start of Drone Tech Media, and it’s grown steadily ever since.”
Headquartered in Ennis, County Clare, Drone Tech Media provides high-quality aerial photography, videography and promotional content for local businesses, events and construction companies.
Kenneth works closely with construction firms, using drones to monitor site progress, conduct visual inspections and to provide aerial updates that support project management and reporting.
A passionate motorsport fan, Kenneth is also active within the Irish rally and drift scene, supplying in-car camera systems that capture dynamic footage from inside vehicles at events across the country.
Drone Tech Media operates with a fleet of advanced DJI drones, ranging from compact, agile drones for smaller environments to cinematic-grade models suited for large events and detailed commercial projects.
“I’ve invested in versatile equipment to cover everything from fast-paced rally cars to slow, sweeping construction progress shots,” Kenneth says. “Every job is different, and the technology allows me to deliver consistently high-quality results.”
This year, Kenneth is teaming up with friends Kevin and Colin to provide full media coverage of Full of the Pipe — Ireland’s biggest and most iconic truck show — where he will be capturing all the action from the air and from the ground.
Outside of work, Kenneth and Kevin also run a monthly Cars & Coffee meet-up in Ennis, where car enthusiasts come together to talk cars, enjoy a coffee and build community.
Kenneth is extremely proud to share his passion with his eight-year-old son, Alex, who already shows remarkable skill and enthusiasm behind the camera and who will be accompanying him to Mondello Park for the second weekend in July, where Drone Tech Media will be shooting Full of the Pipe in high quality for the first time.
“He’s really talented and has a great eye,” Kenneth says. “Alex has huge potential, and it’s brilliant to see him so interested at such a young age.”
Although nothing beats being there as the old cliché quite rightly points out, an event like Full of the Pipe deserves to be documented and recorded using the best technology available today, and that’s where Drone Tech Media comes in.
Needless to say, Kenneth can’t wait for a bit of modern-day lights, camera and action at the home of Irish motorsports where the Irish trucker community will be celebrating the trucking life and ethos in style once more in 2025:
“Indeed, I’m very much looking forward to it and that’s an understatement,” he confirms. “I was meant to do it last year and Kevin encouraged me get involved but I wanted to wait until I knew I had all the right equipment to give it the coverage it deserves. This year I’m ready to go.
“The plan is to put action cameras in the monster trucks and those cameras can run for eight hours. We’ll also be bringing a couple of drones for aerial footage and we have a number of Go Pro cameras as well.”
There’s a lot more to an undertaking like this than meets the eye, not least making sure everything is fully-charged and ready to record, as well as being properly set up and operated. To this end, Kenneth has replaced his Berlingo van with a Transporter, which he’s converted into a camper, and himself and Alex will be staying onsite over the weekend.
“You have to do it properly,” he comments. “I’ll be bringing up to 30 batteries and I have about 20 Go Pros. They’re brilliant and surprisingly easy to use. The young lad is great – he knows more about them than me! Seriously, he’s really good with them and he intuitively knows about the settings, etc., which is remarkable and very helpful.
“I’m going to be there from the Friday morning until the Monday and it’s going to be a great weekend. Full of the Pipe is one of the biggest shows ever and it’s a real honour to be involved in that. And I’m not just saying that because I’m friends with Kevin. It’s the best-run show around and it’s all on tarmac, which is just ideal.
“Look, a lot of shows are well run and a lot of them are great, but Full of the Pipe is a special one and I believe it’s the best of the best. It’s well run, very professional, getting bigger and better all the time and fair play to the boys – you have to take your hat off to them.
“If I didn’t know Kevin and Colin, I’d be going anyway. They put an awful lot of work into this every year and any little bit of success that comes their way is fully deserved.”
Delivering drone videography and photography - high-resolution images and smooth, cinematic video footage - offering stunning aerial perspectives that capture landscapes, events and properties from unique angles, Drone Tech Media can create live or recorded video content as well as fantastic photos from the most action-packed angles.
A regular attendee of the show himself, Kenneth is familiar with the majority of the people visiting Full of the Pipe and is planning to create recorded interviews with some of truckers travelling in to Mondello from the UK.
The man behind Drone Tech Media is a former truck driver who used to work alongside FOTP co-organiser Colin Hegarty and is also a next-door neighbour and close friend of the show’s other driver force Kevin Mulqueen. With online content becoming incredibly popular these days, he intends to make sure the footage of the show is of the highest possible quality.
“I’m still working full time and doing Drone Tech Media part time but it’s getting busier and busier,” he told Irish Trucker magazine. “I want to give the lads the best coverage I possibly can because they deserve no less and at the same time hopefully being associated with Full of the Pipe will publicise Drone Tech Media a little bit.”
A win-win for all parties, that would be the best outcome and it’s also the most likely one!
Full of the Pipe Truck Show Ireland is on July 12 & 13 in Mondello Park
