Haughton & Sons Tyres is a one-stop shop for all your tyre and repair needs in Dublin and beyond. 

The home of tyre fitting and tyre services since 1968, the third-generation business has retained its core family values of providing a great service at an affordable price. Founded by the late Harry Haughton, the company was originally based in Summerhill, Dublin 1 before relocating to its current premises in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15 in 2001. As a long-standing family business, a warm and personal service is guaranteed each and every time. 

Haughton & Sons Tyres was one of the first independent tyre outlets to open in the capital at a time when the Ford Cortina, Hillman Hunter, Austin Morris, Vauxhall Via and Rover MG ruled the road. Its first advertising slogan was ‘You’ll never tyre from Harry’s worth’, which was a play on words from the TV series, Harry Worth. 

The company can help with all your tyre requirements and repairs, replacement and tracking, providing full fleet services to both truck and car clients with onsite fitting. From the cross ply to the steel-belted radial and on the run flat tyres currently in use, Haughton & Sons Tyres remains at the forefront of tyre repair and replacement. While tyres and vehicles have changed dramatically over the last 57 years, the company’s ethos of friendly and affordable service has not. 

The exceptional family business continues to go from strength to strength under the direction of Harry’s son Derek, and grandsons Adam and Harry Jnr. Derek’s wife Catherine and her sister Liz are also involved in the day-to-day running of the business which employs a small, but dedicated and professional team. 

“Adam has four kids and I have two, so hopefully there’ll be a fourth generation,” Harry Jnr smiles.

“We pride ourselves on our quality products and top-class service. Our primary concern, however, is for the safety of our customers, hence the importance of choosing the right tyre to suit your vehicle and the way you drive it. 

“We’re not inclined to push Chinese budget brands too much. Instead, we would advise our customers to go for mid-range tyres like Uniroyal and Kumho which represent better value in the long run. We also supply all the leading premium brands such as Bridgestone and Continental. We always have a large stock of tyres, so we won’t leave anyone stuck.” 

Harry Jnr continues: “We have four fully kitted-out Renault Master vans dedicated to onsite and roadside repairs. We also have a Renault Master for back-up. We have a full range of tyres and rims – we come across a lot of vehicles with cracked rims – to get you going again. We succeed in doing this 99% of the time.” 

The Ballycoolin depot has everything the Haughton team needs to repair and replace tyres as well as carrying out tracking and balancing, from state-of-the-art fitting machines to 4D wheel alignment, TPMS supply fit and diagnose. 

“We look after all types of tyre problems, including flat tyres, blow outs, worn tyres, spare tyres and replacements. We recommend that you get your tyres checked regularly in order to ensure that they are in perfect working order. Your tyres are your only physical point of contact on the road.
