2025 Tipperary Truck Show will be biggest and best yet
01/09/2025
The countdown is on to the 2025 Tipperary Truck Show which returns to Holycross on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7.
This will be the 11th edition of the extravaganza with its new location in Bohernacrusha, Holycross (Eircode E41 HP98) proving to be very successful last year. The decision to relocate to the all-hard standing ground was taken after one of the wettest summers in memory led to the cancellation of the 2023 show.
This year’s Tipperary Truck Show promises to be bigger and better than ever with an exciting line-up of live music, trade stands, food vendors, funfair, amusements, a dog show and trucks as far as the eye can see. Billed as a family event, the show has grown into one of the most successful of its kind. There isn’t another truck show that can create an atmosphere quite like it.
“Last year was the first time the show was staged in Holycross and it surpassed all expectations,” said the organisers.
“After the disappointment of 2023 when the weather played havoc, we didn’t know what to expect. It was a new venue, but we quickly realised that the name had built itself and was more than capable of running as a standalone event. We had 1,200 trucks entered and thousands in attendance.
“It was a resounding success, helped by great weather, and I’ve no doubt that this year’s show will be even more successful.
“We've been at it since 2014 and started with about 150 lorries. Dennison Trailers are the main sponsors of the show and we’re delighted to have them back on board.”
The organisers continue: “The one thing I said to the other lads is that we had to keep the family-theme and, to be fair, they stood by that. The place was heaving. The two local pubs were packed for the whole weekend and it brought a brilliant atmosphere to the place.
“Needless to say, a massive amount of work went into preparing the new site in Bohernacrusha, Holycross. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Tomás Hanrahan from Forestlink for making it available to us. The site is 40 acres and a super facility for hosting a truck show.
“The show wouldn’t have happened without the support of Tomás, Dennison Trailers and the local community or Barry O’Keeffe, Darragh Woods and Jim Leamy who supplied the machinery to prepare the site. Eamon O’Dwyer, who presents ‘Down Your Way’ on Tipp FM, was also there to meet and chat with some of those in attendance.”
As ever, the organising committee - which is headed up by Paddy Graham and brothers Ken and Philly Ryan - are looking forward to welcoming truck owners and enthusiasts from all over Ireland and the UK for what is set to be one of the premier transport and logistics events in Ireland this year.
Looking at the events taking place over the weekend, they say there’ll be more than ever this year with the public permitted to enter through the gates from 5pm on the Saturday. Whereas the public can pay for their two-day ticket at the gate (Under 16s are free), truck show entrants must pay online.
“Trucks have to be onsite and parked up by 3pm on Saturday at the latest”. The gates are open to the public from 5pm and we’ll have the BBQ that evening as usual and two live bands as well. It’ll be open to the public up til around 11 o’clock Saturday night.
“On Sunday then, it’ll be open again to the public from 10am, with the judging of the lorries starting on Saturday evening through Sunday and the prizes will be given out at about 4pm on Sunday with over 25 categories. In addition, a food village will be open all weekend.
“Everyone is more than welcome to come and experience all the brilliant entertainment, shows, food stalls, vendors and show trucks that will be on display. We’re delighted to have Terry Grant, the world-famous stunt driver, back again. He was a huge hit last year. We’ll also have a funfair and dog show, RSA roadshow and GRASSMEN stand to name but a few.
“There will be something for everyone with a fabulous weekend in store. We have a great team of volunteers who are looking forward to greeting you.”
Each truck class / category has its own sponsor and the organisers are grateful for their support as well as that of main sponsor Dennison Trailers who have been building high-quality trailers since 1964, with a passion for engineering excellence, continuous product development and the highest standards of customer service. At their modern facility in Naas, the company manufactures skeletals, curtainsiders, tippers, platforms, machinery carriers and drawbar trailers together with a range of specialist trailers, including the innovative sliding bogie.
Still a family-owned and run business, Dennison Trailers is a market-leading manufacturer of semi-trailers, with customers throughout Ireland and the UK, and a healthy export market.
Among those the organisers wish to thank are the Dwane family, John O’Brien, who provides parking space beside the site, Boherlahan-Dualla GAA, Holycross-Ballycahill GAA, Doran Oil, Catherine and all the staff at O’Gorman’s Bar & Restaurant in Bohernacrusha, Holycross and CJ Skehan of The Wytchway Inn in Bohernacrusha, Holycross.
The Tipperary Truck Show is proud to have donated thousands of euros to local charities and organisations since its inception in 2014, including BUMBLEance, Cashel Day Care Centre, Wee Peter Heart Fund, Order of Malta, CARE Cancer Support Centre, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Friends of St Patrick’s Hospital, Suir Haven Cancer Support, Bothar, St Vincent de Paul, Hope Foundation, Irish Cancer Society, Scoil Chormaic, Dualla National School, Cashel Community School, Boherlahan-Dualla Senior Citizens, BUMBLEance, Boherlahan-Dualla GAA, Dualla Community Hall and St Patrick’s Brass Brand, Cashel.
